Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day! The last weekend in May. It brings so many memories and activities to mind. We often think of BBQs and boating. The summer sun is just starting to shine and we get an extra-long weekend. For most of us, this is the image that comes to mind when we think about Memorial Day weekend. It is a time a laughter and delight. It is a time to get together with friends and family. It is a time to be happy.

Unfortunately, for many families, Memorial Day is the opportunity to remember a father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, or cousin who sacrificed to serve our country but never made it home. While we are enjoying a good ol’ BBQ, there are families, with aching hearts, that lay flowers on the grave of a brave service man or woman. They will celebrate the holiday with a hole in their hearts, still grieving the loss. This is the true reason to celebrate Memorial day. We tend to shy away from hard, cold truths, but we celebrate Memorial Day to honor the memories of those who sacrificed everything for their beloved United States of America. We celebrate it to provide comfort and support to the families that are missing a brother, sister, mother, father, or cousin at their family BBQ. It is a time to come together and remember that our country’s greatness comes from men and women choosing to sacrifice it all for us.

We do not mean to belittle those who are looking to enjoy a long-weekend. We, too, plan to spend time with family and have a good time. The purpose behind this post is to encourage everyone to take a minute to remember the men and women who fought and died for us all. Remember the true meaning of Memorial, and enjoy the beautiful country that so many have died to defend. Each person should honor these men and women in their own way. Perhaps it is putting a flag out in remembrance or visiting a war memorial. We encourage you to take the time to just remember.

At Anarchy Outdoors, we send a special message to those families who have lost a loved one during wartime. It doesn’t matter if it has been decades or a several months, the pain of losing that loved one will always be present. We want each of your to know that we honor and respect all of our lost military men and women. We are grateful for their sacrifice and hope that

we can honor their memories. This is dedicate to the men and women who gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. Thank you, not only to the men and women we have lost, but their families as well.
