07 Jun 4 Practical (and Cool) Upgrades to Make to Your Glock
Glocks are some of the most popular civilian handguns in the shooting industry.
Even if it wasn’t for the fact that American law enforcement officers started adopting Glocks as service pistols nearly 40 years ago, it’s likely the popularity would have jumped up by now, anyway.
Law enforcement publicity gave Glocks a boost and “cool-factor,” but with their light and strong polymer frames, increased capacity, and more sensitive trigger pulls, Glocks were bound for the destiny of popularity.
Simple operation and reliability have also firmly entrenched Glocks in the minds of many Americans as some of the most coveted handguns around.
So you can say a Glock is a good handgun and take no license doing so. But can it be made better?
Sure thing – especially with these 4 practical upgrades you can make with Anarchy Outdoors upgrade parts for Glock pistols.
1.Get a Glock extended magazine release
First things first: Remove and replace that factory Glock mag release with an Anarchy Outdoors Glock extended magazine release.
Does the factory mag release work? Yes, but shooting forums are filled with questions regarding Glock mag drop problems. Solutions range from literally sanding down the exterior of the mag side plates (making them smoother and thus, easier to drop) to replacing the mag release button itself.
Anarchy Outdoors is in the business of making a shooter’s life easier, and manually altering a Glock mag is not something we’d suggest, especially when it’s so easy to install our Glock extended magazine release and customize your gun in the process.
Our Glock extended magazine releases are easier to engage and facilitate mag drops, saving shooters time. Whether at the range for competition or in self-defense situations, a quarter of a second can make the difference in scoring, or even protecting your life.
Our Glock extended magazine releases are available in five colors (black, gold, blue, purple, and red). Compatible with Gen 3, 4, and 5 Glocks, chambered in .45 ACP, 9mm, 10mm, .40 S&W, and .357 SIG. Check the previous link or contact us for additional details.
2.Tack on a new Glock compensator
One of the great things about a Glock is that it’s so lightweight – great news, right?
Well, yes and no. When you actually draw and fire it, the recoil really hits home, especially if your Glock is chambered in a hard-hitting round like 10 mm.
Muzzle jump can throw you off target, add time to target re-acquisition and follow-up shots, and push your groups all over the paper. Worst of all, recoil-sensitive shooters will enjoy their time at the range much less.
These are some of the reasons we developed Glock compensators, compatible with select Gen 3, 4, and 5 Glock models (the 17, 19, 19X, and 20, see the previous link for details).
Our Glock compensators, which, like our Glock extended magazine releases are available in black, gold, red, blue, or purple, and can significantly reduce felt recoil. In fact, our compensators are so efficient at redirecting gases they can cut felt recoil by as much as half.
They’re easy to install, add color and personality to a Glock, and cut recoil without adversely impacting shot power. Most importantly, they get you back on target quickly for faster follow-up shots.
3.Upgrade the trigger
Glock factory triggers are good – but nearly any handgun can benefit from a trigger upgrade to a model that is crisp, light and responsive.
That’s exactly what we offer through the Timney Alpha Glock Triggers for generations 3, 4, and 5. For compatible models, check the previous link. (Or the following link for a list of pistols compatible with the Timney Alpha Glock Gen 5 Triggers.)
The Timney Alpha Glock Triggers are competition-grade triggers with pull weights of three pounds. These triggers break crisply and do not require a gunsmith for installation.
These triggers feature an NP3 Teflon nickel trigger bar and sear, and are straight aluminum models with an anodized safety blade.
In addition to being easy to replace and compatible with a wide range of Glock pistols, Timney uses stock Glock parts and springs to ensure compatibility.
4.Personalizations: Base plate, slide plate, and magwell
On top of these upgrades, we offer a number of upgrades for Glock base plates, slide plates, and magwells.
Both our slide plate and base plate upgrades offer an easy and convenient way to customize your Glock in your favorite color. They are easy to install and available in black, red, gold, blue or purple.
One more quick upgrade you can make to your Glock – and one that adds more than just a flash of personality – is to replace the magwell.
Our Glock magwells – which, like our slide and base plates, are available in red, blue, gold, black and purple – are easy to install. They’re also made from 6061 aircraft grade aluminum and won’t damage the frame of the handgun.
Moreover, our Glock magwells can help diminish the time it takes to swap out mags, eliminating fumbling between reloads and helping shooters to manage stressful situations better. Pair one of our Glock magwells with a Glock extended magazine release and cut the time it takes both to drop mags and reload.
